Bishop Robert McManus
Dioceses of Providence
Providence RI
March 31, 2004

Dear Bishop McManus,

We would like to take the opportunity to welcome you to the Worcester Dioceses.

At this time we contact you to arrange a meeting concerning the status of the Worcester Dioceses.  As we are unaware of your intentions, we have taken his opportunity to establish open lines of communications.  We would like to meet with you prior to your ordination if that is possible.

Our intentions are to seek the best method of clarification of the clergy abuse issues within the Worcester dioceses while initiating harmony in our parishes and lines of communication with the faithful. In review of the actions from within the Providence Diocese we are pleased to see that positive strides have been taken.

Due to scheduling constraints, when such a date proximity is available we will be able to confirm to you the names and organization to be represented at the meeting as well as our agenda. In general we have joined six individuals with law enforcement, theological, advocacy, and legal backgrounds along with a member of the Worcester Voice of the Faithful. All of whom have active backgrounds in our diocese.

If you wish for us to provide you with any further information please feel free to contact us directly. We are open to any other suggestions you may have in regards to this meeting.

 Sincerely,

 Mary T. Jean
