DYS worker kept job after alleged abuse
By Kevin Rothstein
A Department of Youth Services employee was allowed to continue
working in a Worcester juvenile jail for nearly two months after
conducting a humiliating and sexually explicit strip search on a
13-year-old boy, sparking a review of how such cases are
handled, officials said.
Despite the finding, Vazquez remained at the facility for
another two weeks in a temporary post without contact with
children.
That sent a horrible message to other employees and the
children at the Department of Youth Services lockup, one
advocate said.
``I'm wondering whether DYS is taking instructions from
the Catholic Church in how they handle allegations of this
type,'' said attorney Tim Sindelar, an adviser to the
Parents for Residential Reform Project. ...........
Vazquez could not be reached for comment. A spokeswoman for
Worcester District Attorney John Conte said the case was under
review but likely would remain an internal matter.
Voice note: This is again another
illustration of the failure to prosecute by DISTRICT ATTORNEY
CONTE. In his 27 years of office, DA Conte's has never
prosecuted a state agency for child abuse. Routinely
DSS and DYS files false documents, kidnaps innocent children, all
with no fear of prosecution. The Warren foster care case
is another perfect example.
Where is the Attorney General's office?
How long before someone stops DA Conte from allowing children
abuse.

Monsignor Thomas Sullivan, liaison to District
Attorney John Conte's office, has been exposed in a May 2004 deposition as
keeping a secret set of secondary records. The admission came in a deposition of
Bishop Daniel P. Reilly in a lawsuit ongoing in the Texas courts that named the
Diocese of Worcester and Father Thomas Teczar as defendants.
Attorneys representing the plaintiffs – who are
unnamed alleged victims of Father Teczar - are seeking to bring Monsignor
Sullivan and the Worcester Diocese before a Texas Judge to be sanctioned. This
case again illustrates that the Diocese of Worcester has been withholding
evidence and keeping secret files during the past two years.

counts of rape, drugging for sexual intercourse, indecent
assault and battery, distribution of cocaine, distribution of

LeBlanc's home is directly across the street from the elementary
school.
The crimes are alleged to have occurred on either Feb. 1 or Feb.
2 at Mr. LeBlanc's home, 20 Cross St., Gardner. The sexual
assault charges involve one alleged victim, an 18-year-old
female, according to Detective William C. Crockett of the
Gardner Police Department. The home address is also the location
of his law offices.
Voice note: Attorney Gary R. Leblanc is the
lawyer of record in a Worcester Dioceses clergy abuse suit filed
against Rev Robert Kelley, for alleged sexual abuse while
assigned to St Bonafice in Lunenburg.

Trial
delayed for ex-Barre police chief
August date for Thompson
EAST BROOKFIELD- The lawyer for former Barre
Police Chief James R. Thompson requested and received a
postponement on a jury trial set to begin yesterday in Western
Worcester District Court.
Worcester lawyer James G. Reardon told Judge Charles A. Abdella
that both sides needed more time to work out a possible
resolution to the charges levied against Mr. Thompson
Voice note: Again,
Worcester DA John Conte allows "favored individuals" to escape
prosecution in cases of sexual assault. Worcester Diocesan
lawyer James G. Readon's association with DA Conte again becomes
vividly obvious.

Future stories to be published on web site in July:
Transcripts from deposition
acknowledges hidden files contained sexual abuse information.
Monsignor
Thomas Sullivan, liaison to District Attorney John Conte's
office has been exposed keeping a secret set of second records
in a May 2004 deposition, these records were not produced under
a discovery request. Attorneys representing the
plaintiffs are seeking to bring Monsignor Thomas Sullivan and
the Worcester dioceses before a Texas Judge to be sanctioned.
This case again illustrate that the dioceses of Worcester has
been withholding evidence and keeping secret files during the
past two years.
The Worcester Voice, and other advocates will seek to initiate
an investigation by Massachusetts State authorities of Worcester
ADA Christopher Hodgens for his failed investigation that did
not discover Monsignor Sullivan's second set of records, and the
criminality of this behavior based on the issuing of the "Grand
Jury Subpoena" to the Worcester dioceses.
Additionally, as a friend of the court, specially assigned
Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Locke will be notified of this
finding. A request will be presented for Superior Court
intervention into all clergy abuse records presently being with
held by District Attorney John Conte to be released for an
independent review for the protection of all children in
Worcester County.
