How a clergy pedophile "Monster" was created by the Catholic
Church
Part 3
How many innocent lives must be damaged
before we take account of the responsibility of the Catholic
Church.
How can the Worcester dioceses continue to deny responsibility
for the actions of Rev Robert E. Kelley.
Listed below are 11 public Rev Kelley Victims. Unless a
civil suite was filed in court the Worcester Dioceses Catholic
Church has not sought to console or compensate any other Rev
Kelley victims. With their full knowledge that many
approached the doors of the chancery as long as 15 yrs ago.
In addition the "Voice" supports NINE anonymous non
public victims who only came forward in hope of helping others.
Thus allowing us to understand that 20 young and innocent
lives were forever altered by the Worcester diocese failure to
act in the best interest of the flock.

Convicted priest asks for sentence safer than prison
Worcester Superior Court Judge John McCann is scheduled to
sentence the 61-year-old Kelley -- who faces a maximum penalty
of life imprisonment -- at an Oct. 1 hearing.

Mr. Shea alleged that Mr. Ryan's conduct at a Sept. 11
deposition of Mr. Staney's father, Joseph C. Staney, was
"outrageous" and "unprofessional." He also noted that Timothy
Staney is under the care of a psychologist and psychiatrist.
In denying Mr. Shea's motion on Sept. 18,
Judge Kern ordered the payment of unspecified "costs and fees to
each counsel for defendants."
Ms. Goulka requested $750, and Mr. Ryan sought the sum of $620.

How a clergy pedophile "Monster" was created by the Catholic
Church
Part 2.
In another deposition given by Rover E.
Kelley in 1999 in regards to a civil law suite filed after
leaving prison. The following information is available.
A. The whole thing started in
’72 with …. …… I mean that I can be specifically clear of.
Theses others that I am jumping from that year of “72 all the
way to ……. who was my last victim in 1984 when I was
told to stop.
Q. How is it, sir that you are
so clear that it started in 1972 with …. ……?
A. Because it had never happen
before and here I am a Roman Catholic priest touching a little
girl between the legs in a swimming pool, and it was – I mean,
it was that vivid in my mind. (pg 42-43)
Fr Raymond J. Page while Pastor of Notre
Dame was notified in 1972 about allegation in regard to this
first victim he took no action.
Fr John O’Brien from St Boniface parish
observed Rev Kelley alone with a young girl during CCD class
coming out of the rectory. The victim recalls a stern word for
Rev Kelley as she was dismissed by Fr O’Brien and sent back to
CCD class. In October or November 1975
Pastor Denomme, assigned to St Cecilia’s
Catholic Church in Leominster received a complaint in 1977 that
Rev Kelley had inappropriately touched a young girl. He took no
action. (pg 123)
The Dioceses of Worcester continued to
pay Rev. Robert E. Kelley money from 1985 to March 1996 with
full knowledge he had committed such horrendous crimes against
young Catholic children.
Q. Just so that there is
no mistake, sir, is it your testimony that while you were in
prison the Diocese of Worcester was paying you some amount of
money on a regular basis?
A. I believe so.
Q. And do you recall how much
that was?
A. At this point, no, sir.
Q. How were those payments
made? In other words did you receive a check: do you recall?
A. recollection is that I
received a check up to a certain point, and I do not recall how
those moneys cat to me after that point. And I am not trying to
create something complex here.
Q. And how much would each of
these checks have been? What was the amount of each check?
A. Approximately, let’s say for
to five hundred dollars down to about seven dollars. (pg 17-18)

Ryan's conduct at deposition is called
"outrageous'
Mr. Shea said in his emergency motion that Mr. Ryan should be
barred by the court from participating in any further
depositions in this particular lawsuit. He cited a previous
ruling by the court that barred the late James G. Reardon Sr.,
who represented the diocese in Edward Gagne's lawsuit against
the diocese, the Rev. Brendan O'Donoghue and the Rev. Peter J.
Inzerillo, from conducting further depositions because of
improper conduct by Mr. Reardon.

Shortcomings, but not bias in paper’s church abuse
Catholic Bishop Daniel P. Reilly last week
accused the Telegram & Gazette of being "unbalanced and
inaccurate" in its coverage of one of the alleged child abuse
cases by a member of the clergy. The diocesan newspaper, The
Catholic Free Press, in an editorial titled "Bias," joined in
the complaint.
I think the diocesan people have a pretty good case when they
say the daily paper neglected the importance of the dismissal of
charges, though I doubt that stemmed from a general "bias
against the church." I am less impressed with their apparent
desire to strike back at Mr. Shea personally - though what they
said about him pales beside what he has said about them.

How a clergy pedophile "Monster" was created by the Catholic
Church
In the next coming weeks the "Voice" will attempt to bring
definition to the involvement of the Worcester Diocese and the
Catholic Church in the creation a pedophile priest, Rev. Robert
E. Kelley, who by all definition is a sick individual. As
a society we can understand we have sick men. What
comprehension covers the men who used their holy representation
of their collar to hide, deny, and lie all under the name of God
to protect the reputation of the Catholic Church? Those men who
turned a blind eye to so many innocent lives being ruined with
no empathy for the violation to the human soul. How can
these men face the honorable members of the Worcester Dioceses
everyday. Soon we will all see and hear the pain. Soon the
truth will no longer be hidden.
At what point do we seek accountably, how many families,
how many lives?
Part 1
From a 1994 legal deposition the following relationship with
then Cardinal Humberto S.
Madeiros of the Archdioceses of
Boston and Rev Robert E. Kelley can be tracked.
The relationship
was originated by Rev Robert E. Kelley in the 1972.
(The same year Robert Kelley first admitted to
molesting a child at Notre Dame Parish, the same year that
child reported the
abuse to the Rev. Raymond J.
Page, who was then Notre Dame's pastor. “He questioned her
veracity and asked how she could suggest such a thing,” he said.
“He dismissed it as the rantings of a 9-year-old".) Rev Kelley states. I had been working with Father
Tremblay, who was the director of Catholic charities in south
Worcester County. He was the one to – who said to me, Bob, I
think you’d get a lot out of meeting this Bishop because of this
work with the poor in Brownsville, Texas. He was a young Bishop.
I was a young Priest. Their first meeting was at Holy Cross
College.
Tremblay recognized my
love and my concern for the poor, the children, and the adults……
One year later in 1973
Rev Kelley issued a second requested to see Archbishop Madeiros
in Rev Kelley’s own words “because I sensed a very deep
holiness in the man. And I needed direction that also would
lead me to what I felt in him”. The meeting according to Rev
Kelley’s sworn testimony lasted two to three ours which would
include—well. Let’s say two hours, that would have included
waiting for him, and having supper, and then speaking with him
and then leaving. After the second meeting in 1973, Rev Kelley
then meets with Cardinal Madeiros in three to six months. Theses
meeting between then Archbishop Madeiros continue twice a year
during the years 1973 to 1983.
A 1992 production of "Sins of
the Fathers," shown on the cable network A&E as part of the
Investigative Reports series shows a Massachusetts State police
report where Rev. Kelley told the investigating state police
officer in 1989
"I did confide in another priest and Cardinal Medeiros. Cardinal
Medeiros told me not to go near little girls".
The program
also states that no action was taken by the cardinal, who headed
the Boston archdiocese, to report what Rev. Kelley told him.
This State Police report sheet as well as other
particulars in the investigation of the Commonwealth vrs Robert
E. Kelley, indictment number 89-2733 were obtained in 1992 by
the TV production company.
The voice has
been actively attempting to gain access to this state police
report since July 31, 2003. We are hoping for access in the
near future.
September 16, 2003
In the next coming days the "voice" will be issuing information
in relation to the association with Rev Robert E. Kelley and the
Worcester diocese. While many local Catholics have come to grips
with the comprehension that clergy abuse did occur. The
degree of diocesan involved has remained a mystery.
By producing skillfully crafted secret negotiations, the use of
deception and the out right presentation of false information,
the volume of Worcester diocesan involvement has remained
hidden.
Let us not forget, the people in power in our diocese have not
changed. Monsignor Edmond Tinsley, Auxiliary Bishop Rueger and
Monsignor Thomas Sullivan have all remained in power within our
dioceses. This admission of this crisis has initiated no
structural change to Worcester. The church attorney's run
rampant over victims who can not afford the same high priced
legal representation. The attempt of Attorney Joanne L.
Goulka to offer only $20,000 to a victim who Rev. Kelley
admitted years earlier to abusing is an outrage. Bishop
Reilly has no intention of treating any victim with dignity and
respect.
Our attempt at public disclosure is to show how this "monster"
was created by the Worcester Dioceses and left to the demise
of so many young innocent lives.
Letter from alleged killer tells of his motivation
“I’m the alledged (sic) murdered (sic) of defrocked priest John
J. Geoghan, and a victim of sexual abuse as a child.
“I’m writing to The Catholic Free Press for several reasons that
despretley (sic) need to be address’s (sic).
“First I am most sorrowful to Ms. Catherin (sic) Geoghan for her
loss, and I am more sorry for her pain than anything eles (sic)
and although she’ll probley (sic) not forgive me, I send my
sincere and heartfelt apology.
“For the victims who have expressed griefe (sic) over the loss
due to never recieving (sic) answers, well as a witness to the
conversations amounst (sic) several sex offenders in the S.B.C.C.
unit, there was no remorse, only gloating and reminissing (sic)
over past victims. That was my motivation.
“To stop these tradegys (sic) and violence towards children we
must come together and demand the house of legislaitors (sic) to
re-enact stringent sentances (sic) and rehabilitations to cure
this plauge (sic) on our children:

Shea withdraws from
Braio case
Mr. Braio also named the Roman Catholic bishop of Worcester, a
corporation, in the suit, but the corporation was dismissed as a
defendant yesterday by order of Superior Court Judge Leila R.
Kern.
After a string of arguments over possession
of the files, Judge Kern ordered Mr. Shea to turn over the
originals within 10 days. She also gave Mr. Braio 60 days, until
Nov. 14, to come up with new legal representation.

Lawyer faults local diocese on abuse cases
Kelley case is set for trial "Insurance
companies are running the diocese'
Mr. Ascher singled out Joanne L. Goulka, a
Stoneham lawyer. She represents the diocese in the clergy abuse
civil suits but her fees are paid by Travelers Insurance. She
did not return telephone calls made to her office or answer an
e-mail with specific questions seeking comment on Mr. Ascher's
accusations about how she is handling the cases.
He said Ms. Goulka has "harassed" medical and psychological
professionals treating Ms. Martin to the point where at least
one of them no longer wants to treat Ms. Martin because of the
problems with Ms. Goulka.
"Bishop (Daniel P.) Reilly claims he's for the victims. We don't
see it here," Mr. Ascher said.

Church settlement example
for Worcester
WORCESTER-
The agreement
reached yesterday by the Boston Archdiocese and lawyers
representing more than 500 alleged victims of clergy sexual
abuse is being seen as an example for settling about a dozen
pending civil lawsuits involving the Catholic Diocese of
Worcester
One provision in the settlement is that
alleged victims can still go through with court trials if they
are not satisfied. She said she doubted many would want to go to
trial because the process has been long and arduous for them.
